Mason Jar Spooky Lanterns!
Great for Halloween Projects!
Materials:
- Large Mason Jar
- Tissue Paper (Orange: Jack-o-Lantern, Green: Frankenstein, White: Ghost)
- Costruction Paper (Black)
- Cupcake Liners
- Led Volt Fake Candles
- Mod Podge and Brush
Steps:
1) Decoupage the tissue paper color of your choice in to the mason jar (Hint: Do not overlap the tissue paper as much as possible, otherwise the light won't shine through!)
*To Decoupage:
Dip the brush into the Mod Podge and paint the part of the jar your are going to put the tissue paper on.
Place the tissue paper on the part with the Mod Podge.
Lightly go over the tissue paper again with the Mod Podge to give it a sealence. (Please go light otherwise the tissue paper rips.)*
2) Cut out the Construction paper to look like faces of the Halloween character. (Hint: Visit http://putitinajar.com/2013/09/30/halloween-mason-jar-lights/ for more ideas!) Then, Decoupage those on, after the jar is completely covered in tissue paper!
3) Decorate the Lid!
(You want to screw off the lid and the bottom part of the lid might be still on the jar. Pop of the bottom part and put it to the side.
*If you are going to put a real candle on the inside, you want to just screw the outline of the lid back on and throw out the bottom!*
*If you are going to put a fake candle on the inside, you want to take out a cupcake liner.
Turn the out line up side down and place the cupcake liner inside
Place the bottom part of the lid up side down in the cupcake liner and push it down until you cannot anymore!
Tape down the trim of the cupcake liner to the bottom of the lid and screw on the mason jar.

4) Place the candle Inside the Mason Jar and Put it in the Window!
